Toy Story 3 brings back the Kid in Me ;)
By MiciROX. Posted in Animation, Movie Review | 13 Comments »
Right after watching the film I was like “Man am I worn out”.
lol seriously, I was actually tired. But, it was a good kind of tired. You know when a movie is literally one action packed adventure after another, and you are always at the edge of your seat, and you really want to know what happens next? Yeah, it’s that kind.
I’m a big fan of the Toy Story franchise mainly because for me, it was the animation that started it all, the “Awesome Storyline 3D Animation Revolution” (yeah, I made that phrase up, but I’m starting a revolution myself). I’m a big fan of Pixar and all their works, but after How to train your dragon, I was like, I’d like to see Pixar beat THAT.
Boy did they showed me.
Toy Story 3 is the new Mission Impossible
I’d like to think that even when I’m already past puberty, that I’m still pretty much a kid at heart. Up until now I still have my favorite toys lined up in my room waiting for the time when they actually come to life. Well, not really, but they’re still very special.
I had a lot of my toys given out to charity over the years as I grew up, but there will always be those toys that I cannot let go. My favorite is my fat Plushy Pekkle Penguin from Sanrio. At that time I didn’t know his name so I named him Pengo. Later on I found out that ‘Pengo’ is actually penguin in Japanese.
Over the years my mom would always tell me to throw him out. You see, he’s no longer the pretty plushy toy I once had as a kid. One time he had been in the wash too long and his color faded, making him look worn out and ugly. He’s actually had a few stitches over the years. (Yeah, I’ve had him for a while.) But you know what, after Toy Story 3, I don’t think I’m ever letting him go, might even talk to him every now and again. Who knows, maybe he’ll talk back. ;]
But there is another side to that argument. Would the toy rather feel special (because you didn’t give him out while all the rest of the toys went to charity or the trash) or would it rather have a new kid, who will make him feel loved and enjoyed once again?
Taken from Toy Story 2:
Buzz Lightyear: Woody, stop this nonsense and let’s go.
Woody: Nah, Buzz.
[sigh]
Woody: I can’t go. I can’t abandon these guys. They need me to get into this museum. Without me, they’ll go back into storage. Maybe forever.
Buzz Lightyear: Woody, you’re not a collector’s item, you’re a child’s plaything. You are a *toy*!
Woody: For how much longer? One more rip, and Andy’s done with me. And what do I do then, Buzz? Huh? You tell me.
Buzz Lightyear: Somewhere in that pad of stuffing is a toy who taught me that life’s only worth living if you’re being loved by a kid. And I traveled all this way to rescue that toy because I believed him.
I think the reason why everyone will be able to relate to Toy Story 3 is because all of us have been a child once in our lives. I played with my toys before and made swishing sounds too. It sounds silly now, but back then, it was lots of fun. I spent a lot of times with my toys, had a long childhood actually. Funny how I remember thinking how silly I was back then when I turned into a teenager (whenever I see kids make swishing sounds), but you know what, it’s a time I won’t trade for the world.
I went to see Toy Story 3 with my brothers. We were all smiling after the movie saying that it was the best finale Toy Story can have. (I’m actually sad thinking it’s the last one. I saw the original Toy Story when I was just 7 years old. If this sequel had a big impact on me now, imagine the impact it had on me back at that time; I actually remember me saying to myself back then that I will always and forever play with my toys. Yeah, that vow didn’t last too long. lol) Anyways, my little brother then told me, “stupid toys, if they actually talked to me, I’d never give them away.” LOL, my thoughts exactly.
For me, Toy Story was awesome, Toy Story 2 was great, but Toy Story 3 was just out of this world fantastic! I don’t know how these Pixar guys do it, but I really hope they last for a long long time.
I think it’s even time to switch the makers to Pixar. Disney (instead of Disney. Pixar) lol They’ve over taken Disney as the champion of ‘touching classic animated films’ that’s for dang sure. But I guess Pixar being under Disney is a pretty good arrangement. Somehow, they’re still carrying on the Walt Disney legacy.
I know some of you guys might be waiting for a blow by blow of Toy Story 3, but I really don’t want to do that. I don’t want to spoil anyone. This is a film that you have to watch for yourself, and hopefully, even if for just a day, it reminds you that you’re never too old to have fun.
MiciROX is going to change the world, and rule it in the process ;)

Even Though I do not love toys as when I kid, I still love to watch toy story. It is entertainment and learning in one package for me.

Yeah I agree! Pixar never ceases to amaze with the visuals, fun, and moral aspect. Glad to know it appeals to non-toy enthusiasts as well. ;]

This movie teaches me the lesson of letting go. Sometimes, when we let go of someone or something, we somehow can give happiness to others and will open the door to new things. Life is short, let us enjoy and make the best out of it.

I can’t wait to see this movie! I’m a massive fan of Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and co and from what I’ve heard, movie number 3 could well be the best one yet. I was recently lucky enough to go to Disneyland with my 2 young boys and one of the highlights was the Toy Story ride…we had to wait almost 2 hours but it was fun and interactive unlike many other rides at Disneyland.

I haven’t seen the movie yet. I am now reminiscing Toy Story (the first movie) and I can’t remember how old I was during that time. I think Toy Story 3 is a must-see based on your review.

The Hello Kitty phenomenon has grown from strength to strength over the years, and will remain strong as long as there are children in our world. With the virtues the character also portrays in her cartoon series, such as friendliness and kindness, there should be no reason to worry about it. These virtues can only promote the same in children, and it is certainly a facet of Hello Kitty that should be praised generously.

Another great film has been produced by Pixar Studios. This film seems to be aimed as much towards adults as children. Well worth going to see.

Now I am in my early twenties but still I love to play with toys, especially teddies and yeah for sure I love to watch those cartoons too. So there is no point in telling why I like these movies ri8? They are really entertaining and at the same time educative too. Thank you.
