One of the reasons I am so fascinated by Prince of Persia: The Sands if Time is because of the idea of time travel.

“Releasing the sand, turns back time. Only the holder of the dagger is aware of what’s happened.”

Imagine what you could do with that power; you won’t miss a party for work ever again! (You will be the only one who’ll remember this, but that’s beside the point.) Also, you will never have to suffer (for long anyways), about any sort of humiliation. Just release the sand and tada~ feel free to rinse and repeat!
This can be pretty cool to use in real life; but imagine if you can apply that to blogging! Be first with every press release, take back a scandalous comment, unban yourself from a forum; and on a larger scale, steal Google, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. before they were even created! You might remember how that guy who went back in time in ‘Hot Tub Time Machine’ went ahead and invented the popular search engine ‘Lougle’.

Nice thought isn’t it? Well, you are free to keep on dreaming because that will never happen. (Theoretically, according to Stephen Hawking, you can travel forward in time, not backwards.)

So what you want to do is make the best out of every moment; as that is time you can never get back.

So now I have come up with a few that I personally do; and maybe you guys can share your own thoughts about it.1. Have a pen and paper ready.
This is so you can immediately write important reminders. It’s clichéd for a reason and I know for a fact that it actually works, especially for blogging. Personally I don’t sit down for some time to write them all down (like a lot of people I know.) I actually write them down whenever they pop into my head, so I don’t want to waste time trying to remember my thoughts.

You can also use that to immediately write down fresh blogging content ideas that you might forget. In this case, maybe it’s good to own a portable typing equipment like an IPad or something similar, so that you would not have to write it down.

2. Do something else while you Entrecard Drop.
Personally, I don’t see much use in dropping all 300 blogs. Yes you get some possible traffic, but at what cost? Your time and a higher possibility of bounce rates. Don’t get me wrong, I think Entrecard is a good traffic generating service; but for the most part, it’s only useful if you are not yet known and want people to ‘drop by’ and see what you have. If you are more popular, I think it’s just not worth the bounce rates.

My advice is, if you are not going to read the blogs you drop on; open a lot (of related blogs) and then watch TV or write or something, ANYTHING BUT stare at your computer and wait.

3. Research before participating in any PTC or paid to surf programs.
PTC in itself for me is already a waste of time, as I think you would gain more from writing content for your blog or something. Although I understand that not everyone likes to write; and this can be a good way to earn some extra cash. BUT the last thing you’d want to happen is to surf your heart and then find out you’ve been duped.

4. Don’t post one after another.
When you post one after another your other posts get buried right away. So you wasted all that time writing, and then it doesn’t get read by a lot of people. So do yourself a favor and wait a while before posting another one, so you can get the most out of your content. (Remember to promote every post you make if you are just starting out).

5. Don’t Entertain Scam-looking e-mails.
If someone asks you to transfer insane amounts of cash while you get a percent or someone says he has an insanely good business proposition, please don’t reply.

The approximately .0000000000000000000000000000000000000001~% chance that it can be true is not worth the 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999~% chance that it’s not.

You can be scammed out of hard earned money or he can gain access to your mail and other accounts. Don’t give out any sensitive information in the internet if you don’t trust the party 100%.

6. Write an excellent guest post for the right place.
Getting rejected a couple of times is really a waste of time. You would be better off putting in more time in actually writing a good article and then get lots of praises for it when it gets published; than writing a crappy one that gets turned down a lot of times. The blog is actually doing you a favor by rejecting your crappy post. Trust me, you don’t want to be known for a crappy post.

Getting rejected means the post is not good for the host blog and your image. So just spend time enhancing it, not persisting on getting that crappy content published. Guest Posting is really beneficial if you have the right stuff.

7. Don’t Get Banned in Forums
After you build yourself up, you go on ahead and get yourself banned in your favorite forum. So that’s goodbye to all that hard work.

This is why you should make sure to read the rules carefully before posting or commenting in a forum; remember that no two forum policies are exactly alike. The little extra time you spend reading that will save you from a lot of frustration in the future.

8. Think before writing a controversial comment.
If you want to get noticed then fine, but frankly I do not have the time to defend myself. I don’t like being misunderstood, so I defend to the max when someone does not get my comment.

One time I did that for something I truly believed in. The comments got so long, and the time I wasted there was really not worth it anymore. I could have just commented on other blogs. But of course, if you overpower the content then people might click your link; so there is always another side to this argument.

So what other time wasters do you know and ways to solve it? Let’s help each other in finding solutions and make blogging more effective and efficient for everyone. ^_^

Interesting post it’s nice to read other views.

I often write things down but my problem is i find it quite hard expressing things when writing,

Entrecard has mainly been good for me, i actually enjoy visiting other the other blogs “dropping” (time permitting) having said that my only gripe is pop ups, really slow loading sites and obscure EC widgets,

my bounce rate at the moment is averaging 2.96%.

I always read through my spam comments i find some of them hilarious, as you can tell i am not a hard core serious blogger i blog just for fun really

ps. thanks for your regular drops and visits to b2 :-)

When doing online works, multitasking is very effective. While reading blogs, you can also do social networking by sharing the things you found elsewhere on the web.

I totally agree that blogging is great. It is not all about building links for PR and SERPs sake only. It should also build reputation and pull potential traffic back to your website. Above all, it should be a give and take relationship.

Premium ideas, thank you to the article writer. It really is incomprehensible in my opinion right now, but in common, the usefulness and value is overwhelming. Cheers and best of luck..
