So I watched the newest sequel to the Twilight franchise, and I have to warn you….. it’s not as terrible as people think it is!

I’m a fan of  the Twilight Saga, but I kind of get why for the most part only Tween fans are raving about it; it’s not exactly Shakespeare or Anne Rice. So if you read to enrich your literature knowledge or something, skip it.

I like to review movies and blockbuster buffs usually agree with my tastes. But with Twilight it will go something like: you like all these cool things but you have to ruin it all and like Twilight!

For the most part I’m confused too….. I mean, why can’t they like it??! LOLOL!

Sure, it’s not the best movie out there, but it’s NOT horrible! I watch movies every week, so I would think I’m a good judge of blockbuster movies. And I definitely won’t say it’s a good film just because I am a fan.

With all the good movies out this year like Iron Man 2, Prince of Persia, A-Team, Toy Story 3, Karate Kid, Knight and Day, etc. (apologies, they are coming out much faster than I can review them =P) I was honestly not looking forward to Eclipse. I mean, I read the book, so I didn’t feel that I would get something new here. But yeah, I should know that Books and Movies are two different things.

And for Twilight, I think you can hate the book, but rave about the Eclipse Movie.

Vampire Academy: School With Bite

By MiciROX. Posted in Book Review | 9 Comments »
Hogwarts, Vampire style. That’s what I thought at first when I read what the book was about. With a title like Vampire Academy, you’d expect nothing less than a school for Vampires. It also talks about temptation of forbidden love, which is simply classic and I can’t help but compare the novel to Twilight. It’s like a mix of Hogwarts and Twilight, two of my favorite books ever. I knew I just had to read this.

It’s actually a toned down mixed version of the two. Not too many lessons and not too many romances, just right. Although this might be a little more appealing to a young girl audience. It could have used a little more action though, but I guess that it is only beginning and might be something you can expect from the sequels, such as  the 2nd book Frostbite. How original a title, but still apt.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Ever had the time when you come across a movie/book that is so kooky that you just have to watch/read it? Well, this is one of those times. Enter the world of a Wimpy Kid named Greg and his Diary, where everything is not as it seems, as you will see the world the way it used to be— through the eyes of a middle schooler. Where bullies are ten times larger than they actually are, awkward situations are a hundred times more awkward, and touching a moldy piece of cheese is nothing short of social suicide. Doesn’t hurt that Greg’s diary has pictures in it either, god knows we need more pictures in books.

Oh, and it’s not a diary, it’s a journal. (The big difference being that ‘journal’ sounds less wimpy.)

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

In any case, anyone who has undergone any sort of basic education would agree that middle school can be tough, especially when you don’t fit in. Now here comes Greg Heffley, who in more ways than one is your average kid who wants to make a name for himself. And he seems to know everything there is to it to become popular, well, in theory.

.

This actually reminds me of another middle schooler that we all love (to hate), I’m sure you know him as he has lived unaged through a lot of seasons— Bart Simpson. You might be interested to know that the name Bart actually came from the anagram ‘brat’, but that’s another story altogether. Let’s stick to how Greg and Bart could get along real well if they had to go through the ordeal of actually *gasp* studying in the same school!
