Most people would think that there are just 2 sides of an argument, but actually this is just an over simplified version in standardized televised debates. For these debates to be considered a good one, both “for” and “against” points should have strong arguments about a certain topic. Common topics could be politics, religion, global warming, or other things that are not exactly proven to be an absolute fact.

So how does this relate to Inception exactly? Well to answer that, let me talk about the different perceptions of the mind or how a certain mindset based on what you know (or what people say at the right moment) can change how you think or feel about the same situation.

PERCEPTIONS OF THE MIND *Spoilers Alert*

You would notice in the movie that (almost) all of the participants have their own share of (very scary) skeletons in their closets that they were afraid to reveal to their “comrades”. At first they kept these secrets hidden from the others because they trusted AND not trusted each other at the same time.

They were on the same mission but their individual motives were different, and they couldn’t trust each other enough not to spill the beans. Not until they were placed in a very dire (deadly) situation where they have to tell each other everything…but it wasn’t that simple.

So I watched the newest sequel to the Twilight franchise, and I have to warn you….. it’s not terrible as people think it is!

I’m a fan of  the Twilight Saga, but I kind of get why for the most part only Tween fans are raving about it; it’s not exactly Shakespeare or Anne Rice. So if you read to enrich your literature knowledge or something, skip it.

I like to review movies and blockbuster buffs usually agree with my tastes. But with Twilight it will go something like: you like all these cool things but you have to ruin it all and like Twilight!

For the most part I’m confused too….. I mean, why can’t they like it??! LOLOL!

Sure, it’s not the best movie out there, but it’s NOT horrible! I watch movies every week, so I would think I’m a good judge of blockbuster movies. And I definitely won’t say it’s a good film just because I am a fan.

With all the good movies out this year like Iron Man 2, Prince of Persia, A-Team, Toy Story 3, Karate Kid, Knight and Day, etc. (apologies, they are coming out much faster than I can review them =P) I was honestly not looking forward to Eclipse. I mean, I read the book, so I didn’t feel that I would get something new here. But yeah, I should know that Books and Movies are two different things.

And for Twilight, I think you can hate the book, but rave about the Eclipse Movie.

June Contest Winners :)

By MiciROX. Posted in Contest, Entrecard | 5 Comments »

Congratulations Stevebethere from bethere2day…online randomness for Entrecard dropping a FULL 31 days for the month of June! (Weird… I could have sworn June only has 30 days, but it says 31 on Entrecard just now =)

I also appreciate Stevebethere here for being my one and only qualifier and being damn good at it! Very deserving to have that shiny trophy (I have gotten somewhere I’m not sure where) right next to his neat banner! =)

It’s weird but I’m actually pretty happy that there is only one who qualified, now I wouldn’t have to do all the other things I promised for the winners (would have taken a while). And I hate actually just random-ing one person out of many, now my conscience is clear! (BTW, I did use Random.org but it won’t allow me to put just 1 =( )

And at least I know I have at least 1 blogger who supports Click On Portal enough to drop daily. lol

Anyways, bethere2day is a pretty cool random blog, I go there every now and again! The design is neat and there are no website irritations there! My personal favorite are the nice quotes that are compiled in the blog every now and again.  =) Be sure to check this blog out!

PRIZE: 1000EC and sidebar banner in this blog and Click On Portal Blogspot

[BTW, there is NO CONTEST for July since I'm not blogging too much to really take advantage of it. So Stevebethere, I'm totally okay if you drop even if just once a week or less. I know you read my blog, and that's fine =) I'll still drop by whenever I can. Thanks again!]

Here are the rest of my TWEET, LIKE! AND WIN joiners wins banner ads in the 2 blogs too!!!

One of the reasons I am so fascinated by Prince of Persia: The Sands if Time is because of the idea of time travel.

“Releasing the sand, turns back time. Only the holder of the dagger is aware of what’s happened.”

Imagine what you could do with that power; you won’t miss a party for work ever again! (Of course you will be the only one who’ll remember this, but that’s beside the point.) Also, you will never have to suffer (for long anyways), about any sort of humiliation. Just release the sand and tada~, feel free to rinse and repeat!
.
This can be pretty cool to use in real life; but imagine if you can apply that to blogging! Be first with every press release, take back a scandalous comment, unban yourself from a forum; and on a larger scale, steal Google, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. before they were even created! You might remember how that guy who went back in time in ‘Hot Tub Time Machine’ went ahead and invented the popular search engine ‘Lougle’.

Nice thought isn’t it? Well, you are free to keep on dreaming because that will never happen. (Theoretically, according to Stephen Hawking, you can travel forward in time, not backwards.)

Right after watching the film I was like “Man am I worn out”.

lol seriously, I was actually tired. But, it was a good kind of tired.  You know when a movie is literally one action packed adventure after another, and you are always at the edge of your seat, and you really want to know what happens next? Yeah, it’s that kind.

I’m a big fan of the Toy Story franchise mainly because for me, it was the animation that started it all, the  “Awesome Storyline 3D Animation Revolution” (yeah, I made that phrase up, but I’m starting a revolution myself).  I’m a big fan of Pixar and all their works, but after How to train your dragon, I was like, I’d like to see Pixar beat THAT.

Boy did they showed me.

Toy Story 3 is the new Mission Impossible ;)

.

I’d like to think that even when I’m already past puberty, that I’m still pretty much a kid at heart. Up until now I still have my favorite toys lined up in my room waiting for the time when they actually come to life. Well, not really, but they’re still very special.

I had a lot of my toys given out to charity over the years as I grew up, but there will always be those toys that I cannot let go. My favorite is my fat Plushy Pekkle Penguin  from Sanrio. At that time I didn’t know his name so I named him Pengo. Later on I found out that ‘Pengo’ is actually penguin in Japanese.

Over the years my mom would always tell me to throw him out. You see, he’s no longer the pretty plushy toy I once had as a kid. One time he had been in the wash too long and his color faded, making him look worn out and ugly. He’s actually had a few stitches over the years. (Yeah, I’ve had him for a while.) But you know what, after Toy Story 3, I don’t think I’m ever letting him go, might even talk to him every now and again. Who knows, maybe he’ll talk back. ;]

But there is another side to that argument. Would the toy rather feel special (because you didn’t give him out while all the rest of the toys went to charity or the trash) or would it rather have a new kid, who will make him feel loved and enjoyed once again?

Taken from Toy Story 2:
Buzz Lightyear: Woody, stop this nonsense and let’s go.
Woody: Nah, Buzz.
[sigh]
Woody: I can’t go. I can’t abandon these guys. They need me to get into this museum. Without me, they’ll go back into storage. Maybe forever.
Buzz Lightyear: Woody, you’re not a collector’s item, you’re a child’s plaything. You are a *toy*!
Woody: For how much longer? One more rip, and Andy’s done with me. And what do I do then, Buzz? Huh? You tell me.
Buzz Lightyear: Somewhere in that pad of stuffing is a toy who taught me that life’s only worth living if you’re being loved by a kid. And I traveled all this way to rescue that toy because I believed him.

~I’m singing in the rain, what a wonderful feeling~

Disclaimer: This is basically a compilation pics with two people under the rain, whatever the interpretation. So it has mostly boy x girl pairings, but also a few boy x boy and girl x girl too. Nothing bad, maybe even sweet. Hey, it’s a free world.

Pictures from Deviant Art, above each image are links to the source.

Here’s a Taylor Swift song, just something to set the mood :)

The A-Team Movie 2010

“THERE IS NO PLAN B” And you know what, what makes a leader good? It’s not one who makes many plans based on different circumstances on a mission. It’s one who makes only that one perfect plan, because he knows his team can execute and deliver.

Hannibal: I love it when a plan comes together.

Technically this is not a movie I gotta see… because I ALREADY saw it!!! And OMG do I give it an A+ for Awesome! It has superb action, hot romance, and heart –camaraderie, integrity, and loyalty, now that makes for a good film making! And don’t forget the bad ass actors: Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Mt. T, Sharlto Copley, and Jessica Biel.

Liam Neeson aka Hannibal makes for a great team leader! He’s got the skill, the mind for strategy, and most important of all, the heart of a true leader. One  who would literally give his life to clear the name of his team. You can bet your waffles he’s always got your back.

Bradley Cooper aka ‘face’. OMG; where do I start with this guy? Is it just me or has he turned a LOT sexier these days? (Yes I know you are  furiously agreeing with me right now). This guy is a great actor and was perfect to play the tactical charmer,  smooth talking casanova. No wonder all the girls are falling hard for him! I know I have ;]

Mr. T. aka BA Baracus. “I pity the foo!” Wow was this character made for Mr. T. His tough guy attitude coupled by the ‘actually a softy side’ makes for LOL hilarious humor. This is a guy who can switch from the highly temperamental THEN exceedingly calm guy just like that! He sure knows the meaning of loyalty. Whatever vowed he took, he still stood to helping his team. Love this tough teddy bear ;]

Sharlto Copley aka Murdock. The deranged crazy psycho guy that flies wicked and snaps back on a mission. He’s a lot smarter than he looks.

Murdock: I’m a ranger.
Face: I’m worried!
Hannibal: That’s good enough for me.

I might make a more thorough review of this, but for now I wrote this so you guys would go ahead and watch it on the big screen! Tell me what you think, I’m sure it won’t let you down. ;]

Inception Movie 2010

Dreams feel real when while were in them, it’s only when we wake up that we realize something was actually strange.

I think Leonardo de Caprio is the perfect pick for this movie, he really is one of those very versatile actors. I can just imagine how hard it was to shoot this film, with most of the props being a blue screen and CGI. The dreams they make to life are astounding, so far so good from what I see in trailers. It’s so true how dreams do feel real, and when I get into that theater, I want to believe what I see is real.

Christopher Nolan, he has not let me down yet. Dark Knight, still my favorite movie of all time. I’m rooting for yah. This is going to be a movie people will be talking about. I don’t know how these guys keep coming up with these things. Let’s hope they keep blowing us away. ;]

Knight and Day Movie 2010

I know I just HAVE to see this film. I think it would have the same feel as Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie), Killers (Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl) or The Bounty Hunter (Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler). But I have WAY higher expectations. I mean, this is Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz we are talking about here! With Tom Cruise being the dashing under cover agent on the run; and for some bizzare reason, he didn’t kill Cameron Diaz who found out his secret identity. I’m sure they have great chemistry together. I CAN’T WAIT!

Tom Cruise: Some people will come looking for you know. They’ll tell you about me; mentally unstable, dangerous; It would all sound very convincing…
Cameron Diaz: I’m already convinced. ;]

“With me, without me”.

LOL, this is going to be a classic.
